Hi, I'm Jasmine (they/them).
I'm a writer, researcher, and designer currently working in audience engagement at New America's Better Life Lab.
My creative and journalistic work explores mental illness, marginalized identity issues, urban space, and internet culture.
In academia, I investigate the same issues through the lens of media psychology. I attended graduate school at the University of Westminster in London, earning an MA in Digital and Interactive Storytelling. My work in that program explored representations of trauma and PTSD in fictional media.
I'm a jack-of-all-trades and an intentional master of none. I believe the best way to learn a new tool or method of creative practice is to get a project brief and a deadline, and I'm always looking to try new things.
As an undergrad, I studied journalism at Northeastern University in Boston. I also took classes in psychology, media studies, German, Russian, graphic design, and international affairs because I am a person of many interests :)
Thanks for checking out my work, and feel free to reach out if you want to chat.
